Dear user, if you are using the Stendhapp application and/or website, it is because you are interested in discovering everything that has to do with art, culture, food and wine – a tangible and intangible whole that we simply call “beauty”. We refer to places, events, historical references, literary quotations, etc. that represent the cultural fabric of the Italian territory, which is unique in the world for its widespread and varied culture.
This Service Agreement settles the provision of services by Stendhapp to its users and their terms of use.
By downloading the application, the user accepts the following conditions which they declare to have read and understood:

The above data may be used by Stendhapp users to exercise their rights granted by the law and/or this agreement and/or Stendhapp Privacy Policy.
In order to use Stendhapp, users must (i) register by providing a set of compulsory personal data (first name, surname, email address and age group). We may request other data on an optional basis and the user is free to provide them or not. The requested data must be correctly and truthfully provided through the relevant registration form; (ii) accept this service agreement in full; and (iii) read Stendhapp Privacy Policy.
Users may also choose to register through a social media platform. In this case, Stendhapp will ask the social media platform to share the above-mentioned data and will store the name of the platform the user has registered with.
It is the user’s responsibility to keep their access credentials confidential. Stendhapp cannot be held responsible for any loss, distribution, theft or unauthorised use by third parties of user’s access credentials for any reason whatsoever, nor for any misuse that may occur, including damage to third parties or to the user themselves.
We are aware the definition of “beauty of the territory” is not univocal; therefore we wanted to articulate this concept into categories that can be filtered when using our application, so as to display only those of interest. For example, if someone is interested in museums and churches, but not in literature and food and wine, they can easily change the preferences in their profile, in order to display only the categories of their interest on the map.
The expression of the above preferences will allow Stendhapp to suggest events or places related to art, culture and food and wine on the basis of the settings you have chosen, so that you can be informed about the beauty of the place where you are or would like to visit, based on the contents you have chosen to see.
Stendhapp has also developed a proprietary algorithm that can suggest personalized itineraries based on how you have used Stendhapp in the past, any feedback you wish to give us, and the history of other users who have expressed cultural preferences similar to yours. In order to receive accurate suggestions, it is necessary to provide specific consent to use this algorithm (called “profiling”) on your data, the purpose of which is strictly limited to cultural enjoyment and does not involve classifications regarding religious, political, or sexual orientation issues, which are outside the context in which Stendhapp operates, i.e., cultural heritage appreciation. Our mission is exclusively to increase the enjoyment of cultural heritage in a logic of geographic proximity, favoring lesser known places and events and sustainable travel by foot or bicycle. Under no circumstances will we disclose data related to individual user profiling that is exclusively functional to the above objectives. You will still be able to deny consent to profiling at any time directly from the app: Stendhapp will continue to function, but its recommendations will be less closely aligned with your cultural preferences.
The selection is made at the sole discretion of Stendhapp editorial staff, who may choose to highlight certain places and events to visit rather than others, according to – but not exclusively – the settings chosen by the user.
Following the same logic, we may send you email alerts regarding events and places related to the categories you have selected, considering that they may be of interest to you. In addition, users who have given their consent may receive invitations to take part in surveys to improve the service we offer, as we believe it is in their interest to receive a better service. It is always possible to opt out of receiving these emails by writing to servizioclienti@stendhapp.com, as provided at the end of the email itself.
You may also receive marketing messages only if you have provided your express consent to it and you may at any time change your mind and withdraw your consent to receive marketing communications by sending an email to servizioclienti@stendhapp.com, or by changing your profile settings on the app.
You may also be notified by email about service information and instructions on the technical use of the web app and mobile app, information on any updates and patches, administrative messages relating to your account or recommended locations and/or events or accessibility, as well as any change that lead to an upgrade or addition to the web app or mobile app functionalities. Please note that it is not possible to unsubscribe from receiving such service announcements.
The Services provided by Stendhapp are intended merely as a support tool and are not in any way a substitute for the advice of a field expert. If the information provided does not meet your expectations, you are free to cancel your registration at any time.
Our app uses geolocation as the main criterion for showing advice about art, culture, food and wine: location is used to show the beauty around the user’s whereabouts, and to do this the user is asked to give permission to share their location. Therefore, users need to have geolocation enabled, or activate it by accessing their device settings, in order to be able to take advantage of recommendations on the beauty around them and other features of the application. Unlike other applications, we will not show commercial activities or events that go beyond our mission of enhancing cultural heritage. For example, we will not show restaurants and hotels, unless they are housed within structures of particular historical or artistic interest. In particular, with regard to the “Food” and “Wine” categories, one can find on Stendhapp the actual producers of quality food and wine, such as producers of DOC wines, IGP foods and Slow Food presidia, not just retailers of such products.
Using the Stendhapp app without sharing your location is possible: however, some important functions will inevitably be compromised, since the primary objective is to show what is beautiful around the user’s location.
As detailed in the Privacy Policy, the position data we store will not be passed on to others, but simply used to tell you about places and events that we think you may find interesting.
We make every effort to ensure good quality information, however by aggregating a large amount of data from different sources, there may be inaccuracies: within the app and through the contact form on our website you can report any inaccuracies. It is very important for us to be able to rely on users’ feedback to provide the community with a better service.
Those who are registered on Stendhapp can suggest places to be added to our map by clicking on the “+” button: the information and the image will be published with the name and surname of the person who reported it or with a pseudonym chosen by the user, after verification of the suggested place by our editorial staff. We count a lot on the knowledge spread in the community and we value these suggestions to increase the capital of shared knowledge on the beauty of Italy.
Users are responsible for their own and third party content that they share on this Application, whether by uploading it, posting it or in any other way. Users who share content release Stendhapp from any liability in relation to the unlawful dissemination of third-party content or the use of this Application in a way that violates the law.
The Stendhapp editorial team moderates user-generated content and may, at its sole discretion, supplement incomplete content, translate it or decide not to publish it if it goes beyond the mission of the Application, contains incorrect information or offensive or unlawful content.
In the event of repeated misuse and markedly harmful use of the Application, Stendhapp may, at its sole discretion, ban the user.
Places and events on Stendhapp can be shared on social media: other Stendhapp users will not be able to see what users have shared, with whom they have shared and what comments they made; only people authorised by the user profile on the specific social network will see it. For example, if a user posts on Facebook through the app a place that was discovered thanks to Stendhapp, only the people authorised to see his Facebook page will be able to see it. The aim is to give an incentive to spread the word about beauty with those who are fascinated by it, not to create a discussion forum on the Stendhapp pages. On their “profile” page, users will find a list of the places they have viewed and shared on social networks (but not the texts they have added when sharing): these lists are visible only to the user and to Stendhapp maintenance staff, and not to other users, in line with what is detailed in the Privacy Policy. Stendhapp is not responsible for the content nor for the processing of personal data carried out by the social platforms used by the user.
Star ratings: users have the possibility to rate places with a score ranging from 1 to 5 stars. For each place, only the average score will be visible and not the individual user’s vote. If no score appears, no one has rated the place yet.
Accessibility: We are very keen to provide people with disabilities with accurate information about the accessibility of places. Therefore, when a user suggests a place, it is mandatory that he or she reports about whether the place is accessible for people with disabilities or not. Stendhapp encourages users to provide accurate information about the actual accessibility of places for people with mobility impairments, but cannot be responsible for the accuracy of the information provided by users.
On Stendhapp, photographs are deliberately almost all in black and white: this is because we believe that the digital medium should encourage people to visit places and not replace them, we promote the experience of beauty and we want to give a significant boost to cultural and enogastronomic tourism. We always mention the source of information and photos we show, and the black/white toning and filters help us in our mission to encourage visits, without detracting from the artistic value of the original photo.
Changes, resolution and data storage: Stendhapp may make changes, suspend, terminate access or cancel the availability of Stendhapp at any time. On the other hand, the user may stop using Stendhapp at any time. Stendhapp will retain the data for a maximum of two years following the termination of use of the service, but the locations, and the associated information and photos, reported by the user will remain visible to the community.
Stendhapp may store in an aggregated and anonymous manner any user groups created using data on events, for the sole purpose of improving the service and/or for scientific or research purposes, including those carried out by third parties.
Stendhapp may make additional changes to this service agreement over time. By continuing to use Stendhapp, users will be subject to the additional terms or will only be able to access the service after acceptance of any updates that materially change these terms.
Stendhapp also reserves the right to make technical updates to the service, including visible changes, in order to ensure the best possible performance and to notify the user by email.
App maintenance and malfunctions: The Stendhapp service may not function properly if the user does not accept the updating changes. If malfunctions are detected in the app, you can always report them by sending an email to info@stendhapp.com, and we will respond as quickly as possible depending on the technical problems encountered.
The app may be temporarily suspended for maintenance purposes. If Stendhapp deems it necessary to carry out maintenance services which imply the suspension of the service for several days, a warning email will be sent to limit the inconvenience as much as possible. In any case, the User shall not be entitled to compensation or any other form of restitution for any reason whatsoever in the event of a malfunction.
The Service is provided “as is”: While we try our best, the Service is provided by Stendhapp on an “as is” basis, without any explicit or implied warranty as to its accuracy or availability.
Use of data: Stendhapp grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Stendhapp app and the information derived from it, solely for your own personal use.
Prohibited use: The service must be used in accordance with the provisions of this agreement. Users may not, under penalty of suspension or termination of the user account without prejudice to any rights to protect Stendhapp:
